The 2016 Akwaaba African Travel Market Sunday opened in Lagos with an impressive number of travel and tourism industry players turned out, to network and showcase their products and services to prospective clients at the four day event.
The Day one of the trade exhibition and conference which is holding at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, witnessed interesting activities in addition to marketing and exposing African tourist destinations to the world.
The highlight was the African Travel Awards/Dinner which featured fashion, musical and comic shows featuring the best from Africa.
Some of the countries registered for the events Who participated in the Day one activities include Dubai Tourism, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Rwanda, Namibia, Tanzania, Benin Republic, Ethiopia, Togo, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Liberia. More countries are still expected at the event
According to the organisers, with about 20 Africa countries and many exhibitors from across the world, expected to attend the event, which is in its 12th year is a travel event featuring travel and tourism related organisations, travel experts, national tourism boards, sellers, buyers and other suppliers of travels.
This year’s conference session is taking on a new dimension with series of talk shops on aviation and tourism dominating the two days. A number of speakers and panel of experts are scheduled to speak and discuss the various topics.
About 20 Africa countries and many exhibitors from across the world, are expected to attend the event which is in its 12th year. .
