An Air peace passenger plane yesterday delayed landing after the pilot noticed a cattle herd on the runway of the Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri, Vanguard reports.
According to eyewitness reports, the pilot was forced to take the decision to avoid crashing into the cows and causing a disaster. Airport security were called to clear the cows of the runway before the plane could make a safe landing.
While terror-stricken, none of the passengers were hurt.
This is not the first time cows had disrupted landing at Nigerian airports. In one case last year at the Port Harcourt Internationa Airport, an Air France plane had crashed into some of the cows.
