Man’s elaborate marriage proposal goes horribly wrong when helicopter CRASHES – but he still pops the question as he’s lying in the wreckage (…and of course she said yes!)
A man has proposed to his girlfriend as they were pulled from the wreckage of a helicopter crash.
The man from Penrith in Sydney’s west suffered leg injuries, but went on with his plan to propose to Ms Gosper moments after they were pulled from the chopper, NZ Herald reported.
Ms Gosper said fellow shaken tourists were being helped from the wreckage when Mr Green proposed.
‘Mitch, as he couldn’t walk, he had his arm around me. We were trying to get away from the helicopter and he said he couldn’t wait any longer,’ Ms Gosper told NZ Herald.
‘He pulled it [the ring] out and he put it on my finger.’
The couple have been dating for seven years.
Mr Green has undergone leg surgery at Southland Hospital.
Emergency services confirmed one person suffered leg injuries. There were a total of six people onboard the helicopter, including three Chinese tourists.
Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC) visited the site on Wednesday.
The pilot, who has been flying for the company for two years, has been stood down from flying indefinitely
The company will also investigate the accident as part of standard procedure.
