Beejay Sax, one of Nigeria’s fastest growing Saxophonist joined staff and students of Caleb University to celebrate the end of year Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at the schools main campus located in Ikorodu Lagos State.
Peplnews reports that the entertainer, real names Bolaji Banjoko led participants at the Caleb Varsity event in praise and worship using his signature musical instrument, the saxophone, to worship and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in a most thrilling way.
The hall was full to capacity as the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Ayandiji Daniel Aina led other management staff including Heads of Departments, Deans, lecturers and students to the annual event.
The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus was told in nine short Bible readings from Genesis.
The event was both impactful and interesting as it spurred the excitement and joy of the season while showcasing the dynamic and raw talents of students of the institution.
In his ministration, the Guest Minister, Pastor Odimba Christian Odimba, charged the audience to put their trust in God.
“God is the way maker. If we put our trust in God, he will make a way for each and everyone of us”.
Special Guest at the event, Mr Taye Ige, a media practitioner and Chief Executive Officer, Hot Sports Media Ltd, admonished the students to take advantage of the season to re-evaluate their stand with God who has shown mankind mercy by giving his son, Jesus Christ.
Mr Ige encouraged young and upcoming journalists to consider the area of sports marketing which he hinted, is very lucrative.
He also seized the opportunity of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, to share more career secrets with the students and also promised to award the best graduating student in mass communication a #100,000 with an option of employment in his Company.
The Caleb University choir and other singing groups including the Shante held the audience spellbound with their sonorous ministrations which focused on the need for a total re-connection with the saviour, Jesus Christ.
The Drama group was not left out as their presentation not only entertained but also ministered to the audience on the reason for the season.
The event provided an opportunity for the Caleb University staff to let down their hair after a year long task of nurturing and grooming the nation’s future leaders.
