Residents of Bwari Area Council in Abuja have decried what they described as acute water shortage ravaging the area.

One of the residents, name withheld lamented that the residents have been going through untold hardship trying to have access to water for about six months now.

“for about 6 months now, we have been suffering to get water due to inability of the Water board of Federal Capital Territory Abuja to fix a major damaged water pipe that supplies water to the area”.

He said residents have now resorted to scooping water from shallow wells, a development he fears could cause an epidemic.

They are appealing to the FCT Water Board Authorities to fix the water problem urgentlly, so as to alleviate the suffering of residents in the area.
