12-year-old hyper-realist artist Kareem Waris is moving fast beyond what you expect in the artistry world, pulling likes on the social media.
Waris drew the French president, Emmanuel Macron during his visit to Lagos state last year. The young Nigerian artist was already famous in the local art scene but became known worldwide after drawing a life-like portrait of the French president in just two hours.
when Macron visited Lagos last year, he gifted him the portrait. This has attracted gestures from the Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and Ecobank.
Hear what he said in a video: “After i drew president Macron, i got connection with the governor of Lagos state, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode and Ecobank, I want to be an artist like Da Vinci, Michelangelo and all those big artists, that’s where i see myself.”
